Action 4 Botton

July mediation update

21 July 2016

Dear Friends, here is the agreed statement from the latest mediation meeting.

“The Camphill Village Trust and claimants from the Botton, Delrow and Grange communities are pleased to confirm significant progress was made towards a final settlement at the most recent mediation session held last week.

All of those involved have continued to work closely together, building on the foundation of previous mediation sessions and the implementation of actions which have already been agreed.

We are now more confident that further agreement can be reached on a number of practical issues, many relating to the development of a Shared Lives scheme in Botton. Both CVT and the claimants are working hard to secure the necessary support for the scheme from the trustees of Avalon, the Shared Lives provider for the Yorkshire area, and North Yorkshire County Council.

We are encouraged by the progress that continues to be made in particular the agreement to establish a forum for the involvement of family members at Botton and the Grange in light of the Family Reference Group pioneered at Delrow.

We look forward to continuing to work closely and positively together to resolve any pending issues over the next few months.”

We thank you for your patience and loyal support. This is all very slow but things are now moving towards an acceptable solution.
